“After death there looms the threat of an eternal hell.” Every fifth West German says he believes this. This belief in hell is still taught to children today – especially in fundamentalistic environments – with dire consequences for their later lives.
Of four such persons the life-stories are analysed with qualitative methods. The several perspectives of theology, psychotherapy, socialization, and pedagogics are brought together to weigh the implications and consequences of the results.
